Greenhouse Gas Emissions:


CO2 (Carbon Dioxide): Comes from burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas for energy and transportation.


Methane (CH4) - from livestock digestive processes, rice paddies and landfills.


Nitrous Oxide (N2O): Agricultural activities, Fossil fuel combustion and Industrial processes


Fluorocarbons: In industrial processes, refrigeration and use of some products.


Deforestation:


Trees are natural carbon sinks, so removing them decreases the Earth's ability to store CO2.

The production and use of fertilisers lead to the release into the air of nitrous oxide, another powerful greenhouse gas that is several hundred times stronger than CO2.
